DojoBlog.ro Becomes RamonaJar.com

There’s no point in starting with “communist-style” messages like “we will do this and that.” Today, I actually have many ideas about how this blog should look and what it should offer. Some people might find it interesting over time, while others might not stand it. Even though I try to foresee many things, it’s probably easier to tell you what not to expect from this online project.

What this blog will not be about:

  • News stolen from the internet and posted here for Google indexing – Forgive me, but I find such projects nauseating. It seems that people here still have trouble understanding how to use other people’s content, and even if some hide behind “fair use,” in the end, it’s just unoriginal content that people can find in many other places. I assume you know well enough where to find your daily news. This blog will offer different content, which I hope will make you come back daily, if not five times a day. 🙂
  • YouTube videos, funny pictures, and other nonsense – Again, when inspiration runs out, some people embed videos or slap an image on their site. You know, the kind of funny stuff we’ve grown tired of, forwarded to us endlessly by friends bored at work. This blog focuses on personal information and ideas, not links to mask a lack of original content.
  • “Colorful” language – While I sometimes let things slip in real life with the occasional harsh word, this is written content, and many people will read it. Given the more thoughtful nature of this blog, I expect my audience won’t appreciate crude language. Plus, I follow the rule, “Don’t write anything you wouldn’t want your parents to read.” This keeps my language clean. Not overly academic, not even using diacritics, and perhaps with too many ellipses… but I’m confident no older family members would mind reading these posts. No one will kick me off hot meals in the coming weeks, so we’re safe on that front. 🙂

These are the main “no-nos” for this blog. I’ll aim to offer interesting ideas, well-thought-out messages, and hopefully some useful insights.

This is what I was planning to do on DojoBlog.ro, when I started it on September 11, 2007.

Whoa, it was 17 YEARS ago.

I lived 5 lives since then. Lost so many people, gained so many people.

Probably the only constant throughout this time is Mr. Dojo (as I used to jokingly call my boyfriend back then). We’re still together, 22 years and counting (11 since we got married).

We traveled to the other side of the world, had a child, immigrated, and became citizens — what a whirl.

Haven’t posted on DojoBlog.ro for almost 1 year. I felt like it’s run its course, like there’s not too much to write about. I am not angry anymore, don’t (as I used to be years ago), I found clarity and peace in my life.

Don’t like the idea of throwing away almost 2,000 articles, or discarding my readers’ comments. You’ll find them all here, as they used to appear. I’ll transfer all content here and then redirect.

A new page? I don’t know.

I’d love it to hear your thoughts. Ideas for me? What to write about? What interests you?

TIA
